Below, you can read more detail of courses and apply to join forthcoming courses and activities.

HEAT - Protection against Risks and Threats in Conflict Areas Location: Sando, Sweden Date: 9 - 14, Jun 2013
Disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration of ex-combatants Location: Stockholm, Sweden Date: 9 - 20, Sep 2013

The course is to a large extent based on the UN Integrated DDR Standards (IDDRS). It outlines preconditions necessary for the success and sustainability of DDR programmes. It also provides guidance on key strategies and approaches to DDR.

Rule of Law Course Location: Berlin/Germany Date: 15 - 27, Sep 2013

The rule of law, as defined by the UN, is an essential foundation of international conflict and crisis management. Experience gained over the past decades demonstrates clearly that establishing a basis for peace, security and development in the immediate post-conflict period, as well as during long-term consolidation, is not possible without the rule of law. Rule of law reform has therefore increasingly been included as a component in the mandate and work of many international, regional and national actors - with the work of practitioners’ key to the success of these reforms.
