Genderforce was a EU financed project through which a number of Swedish government agencies and civil society organizations collaborated around a number of subprojects with the overall goal to recognize women’s needs, experiences and competencies in international peacekeeping missions and their contexts. The project was completed in 2007, but continues as a network that brings forward some of the subprojects that were developed during the Genderforce project. One of these subprojects is a Gender Field Advisor course.
The 2011 Gender Field Advisor Course takes place between May 7-13 on Sandö, arranged by Folke Bernadotte Academy. The course is open to international participants and the last date for applications is March 25.
The course is organized in collaboration between the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), the Swedish Police, the Folke Bernadotte Academy and the Swedish non-governmental organization Woman to Woman.
