EU leaders for crisis management operations require qualified analysis and input from political advisers in order to make the most informed decisions and develop the best strategies for mandated implementation. Hence, political advisors need to have a deep understanding of both the specific context of the conflict as well as the EU policies and dynamics, to be able to perform their duties in the best way possible.

This course aims to strengthen the skills, capacities and competencies of political advisers in EU crisis management missions and operations. The course includes knowledge and understanding of EU/Brussels institutions and processes; roles and tasks of political advisers; analytical tools; conflict resolution and mediation; basic intelligence; management and coordination.
