The Folke Bernadotte Academy is for the third time hosting the EU Mission Security Officer Certification course, in September between the 6-17th at Sandö.

Growing awareness of the necessity of educating personnel being deployed to risk associated areas initiated the EU Mission Security Officer Certification Course. The safety and security of EU staff is thus at the center of the cooperation between the Security Office of the General Secretariat of the Council and FBA.

 The purpose of the course is to support the development of a personnel pool for existing and future crisis management missions, within the framework of the European Security and Defence Policy, ESDP. The participants are nominated by their respective home countries or by the ESDP-mission in which they are currently participating. The course involves both theoretical lectures given by experienced specialists and scenario-based exercises and role playing, with special attention given to leadership and security.
