Genderforce was a EU financed project through which a number of Swedish government agencies and civil society organizations collaborated around a number of subprojects with the overall goal to recognize women’s needs, experiences and competencies in international peacekeeping missions and their contexts. The project was completed in 2007, but continues as a network that brings forward some of the subprojects that were developed during the Genderforce project. One of these subprojects is a Gender Field Advisor course.
The third Gender Field Advisor course starts on October 3 at SWEDINT, the Swedish Armed Force’s International Training Centre. The course will run between October 3 -9. This is the first time the course is open to international participants.
The course is organized in collaboration between the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agenc y (MSB), the Swedish Police, the Folke Bernadotte Academy and the Swedish non-governmental organization Woman to Woman.
