There is an interesting development in the area of Rule of Law and several international organizations are deeply involved in Rule of Law work in different parts on the world. Rule of Law is an important field in order to stabilize a country after crisis and conflict The course will cover many different aspects of Rule of Law, how international organisations work with it and different past and present missions. The course will also discuss different methods and tools for how to work with Rule of Law issues and problems. The objective of the course is to provide participants with knowledge needed in a Rule of Law mission or in a Rule of Law component of a more comprehensive peace mission, and the skills necessary to perform well in a crisis-stricken environment. The course combines lectures, seminars, case studies, discussions in smaller groups, and simulations. To capitalize on the different experiences of the course participants, attention is devoted to personal experience, including presentations and discussions in informal settings.
