Who we are

A broad-based peace institute

The FBA's objective is to strive to improve Swedish and international capacity in peace operations. To match the scope of the challenge, the FBA has assembled a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, legal experts, administrators, coordinators, recruiters, trainers, economists and lecturers. The different facets of the FBA's wide operational base complement and strengthen one another. The result is a broad-based peace institute with the capacity to develop knowledge, training and to deploy experts to peace operations.
The FBA also plays a key role as a national and international hub for cooperation between agencies and organisations, both within Sweden and globally.

What we do

An expert agency spreading knowledge

The FBA's ethos hinges on the constant development and dissemination of updated knowledge in our specialised field of work. Fundamentally, the FBA focuses on three pillars which are the basis of all peace-enhancement work: The creation of a secure and stable environment, the facilitation of political processes and the establishment of a framework for national and international cooperation and coordination.
