FBA prepares personnel who are about to go and work with aviation security in Juba, South Sudan.
Aviation security in Juba
The new EU mission, the EUAVSEC, aims to strengthen the capacity for aviation security at Juba international airport in South Sudan. The training is held in the framework of Europe’s New Training Initiative for Civilian Crisis Management (ENTRi) and is funded by the EU Commission and the Folke Bernadotte Academy.
Approximately 20 participants from several EU Member States as well as the UN are gathered in Brussels, to be introduced to EU Civilian Crisis Management and CSDP (Common Security and Defence Policy), the mission mandate as well as the geopolitical situation in South Sudan.
Prepare newly recruited personnel
Participants are also briefed about other important issues relevant when deploying to a post-conflict environment such as the security situation on the ground, stress management, code of conduct, and living and working conditions. The objective of this training is to prepare newly recruited personnel for their upcoming assignments so that they can start working effectively when arriving in the mission area.
