How to destroy a weapon

Course in Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration

In mid September the Folke Bernadotte Academy is conducting a course in Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) in Stockholm, where 28 participants from some 24 countries are attending.

In one of several exercise in the course the participants learn different techniques of how to destroy weapons as shown in these pictures.

The FBA conducts on a yearly basis a two-week generic course on Disarmament, Demoblisation and Reintegration. Representatives from international organizations, governmental agencies, diplomats, police- and military personnel, academics as well as members from both international and national NGO´s are invited to participate in the course.

The next course is jointly organised by the Barcelona International Peace Resource Centre and the Folke Bernadotte Academy, and will take place in Barcelona, Spain, from 29 October to 9 November, 2012. In the 2012 Disarmament, Demoblisation and Reintegration course, invited participants from Afghanistan, Argentina, Austria, Benin, Burma, Burundi, Cameroon, Colombia, Denmark, France, Haiti, Honduras, Hungary, Italy, Nepal, Philippines, Poland, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Sweden, Switzerland, Uganda and USA.
